Thanks for sharing these - they're great. Especially like 3,5,6, 13 and 17
The kids are great
Where were the trecking photos from?
Those monkeys are vicious little beasts!
that's awesome.. I was born in Nepal. Currently living in Bristol, UK I think I need a good camera if I go back there again.
Thanks guys! I wasn't sure how a lot of them were going to come out as it was the first time I had used my Tamron 17-50mm 'properly', and because the screen on the 300d is so small I couldn't really check them until I got home.
Most photos were taken in the Annapurna region which is west of Kathmandu. The mountains are 7-8000m high. Spent about two weeks trekking - but didn't get as far as we wanted to because we caught a bug on the plane. Views were awesome though.
Went with my in-laws for father in law's 60th birthday. I am currently trying to decide which photo to get printed for his wall as a birthday present. I have several more landscape ones to chose from. I might post them later to get some advice.
Very nice; been there too unfortunately after 15 years it all looks the same! Most people catch bugs in Kathmandu; its usually altitude sickness, jetlag, pollution of from the water. Bad luck on getting it from the plane! Pokhara is a much nicer place to get acclimitised.
Love numbers 7 and 18 - Fantastic Photos
Looks like you had a fantastic time aswell - how long were you out there for?
Pretty sure it was the plane as we got it one after the other so it wasn't food or water poisoning. It's still pretty impoverished. Lots of rubbish on the trails now too - mainly plastics - don't know if that was a problem when you went? Lots of air pollution in Kathmandu from brick chimneys and out-dated lorries - we spent as much time in Pokhara as possible
Three weeks - hoping to go back and do Everest base camp in the next couple of years.
Here's a typical pollution pic from Kathmandu for anyone interested:
Tuk tuks (spelling) and because the whole city is in a big bowl are big contributers too. Its such a shame as the older areas are great to wander round.
The rubbish was not so bad in the trekking aeas If I remember correctly. Unfortunately everything gets carried in so has to get carried out again afterward; with no one willing to pay I suppose its going to be left. I would post some pics but they are on film and woul dbe put to shame!
No 12 is brill, all great shots.
