Morning all.
I'm currently using my daily in-ear headphones (which I also use for daily commute etc) when I'm on my PC, but feel that i could be getting something better.
Requirements:
Mainly will be used for gaming. I'm not interested in attempts to reproduce 7.1 surround sound, but if it gives a good spacial separation i'll be happy. Hearing when a bullet zips over my head in Battlefield will be good
Budget - Certainly under £100, under £50 is probably more realistic.
Audio fidelity - I listen to mp3's which tend to be encoded at around 200 kbps VBR, and a mixture of genres (R&B, Pop, Classical, soundtracks, some hard rock... no thrash metal or jungle though). The audio output is processed via Creative X-Fi (external USB device).
I would love a wireless set, and am quite smitten with the look / ease of use of this Sennheiser set. (Today Only, £77).
Edit: Sorry, one further thing. My desktop is less than 10 foot away from our living room settee, and when my wife wants to watch Eastenders and i'm gaming, i'll need headphones that dont leak too badly (or i'll get grumpy looks).
I'm thinking wireless since my current in-ear has quite a short lead and limits my chair rocking, but can imagine getting annoying with a really long cable getting tangled up
Should I bite the bullet and buy that pair? Are there any others that warrant consideration?
(I live close to a Richer Sounds, and may wander in there to look too).
Edit 2: Well, a bit of googling shows that Amazon have the above set for £58.99 inc delivery, so that's looking good already. I'd still very much welcome opinions and experiences before buying.
