My second Monolith arrived yesterday.



I've not had chance to do much other than set the levels. I've not even re-run my Antimode, but the initial impressions are frankly awesome. Gone are the directionality issues I was having before, and subjectively the response seems significantly more even, especially when it hits the really deep stuff. Can't wait for it to run in a bit more.

I've yet to add a sub to my setup - have the 5 sorted (Acoustic Energy Evo 3s 1s and Centre) and should really look for a sub to match.....

Hehe one was enough tbh, but I could hear where the sub was located with some LFE material. It also looked lopsided so another one was ideal. It's no louder under normal listening since all parts of the system are carefully balanced and calibrated, but you can keep pushing and pushing the volume with no hint of a struggle.

I just let rip with Hades by Pan Sonic. The conservatory shook. Absolute win

Was it just the directionality issues that made you get two then? I never really had that with mine before I changed it, but then I had mine crossed over at 60Hz.

Mine's only running LFE, the floorstander FB1i are comfortably full range. So, in theory it could have anything up to 120Hz being sent to it. Generally anything above 80Hz is directional, but some people (like me) can be sensitive to it lower too.

Im only on 5.0 aswell (Tannoy Mercury customs) but i dont reckon ican get a sub, especially as the neighbors below me have a baby... stupid flat
