    Re: Kindle 4

Looking around the kindle touch is the same storage as the kindle 3.

its only the non touch screen that has smaller storage but also a smaller price

    Re: Kindle 4

    Check out the link mate.

The basic new kindle is 2gb but the multitouch one is 4gb. The touch screen one is tempting although 2gb is still a decent storage section and its cheaper.

    Re: Kindle 4

Aye I also thought you meant onscreen as in touch screen keyboard

Can see having to use the cursor pad to type anything would be a nightmare...

    Re: Kindle 4

The regular kindle keyboard is bad enough to type on (lack of number keys is pretty terrible), I can't imagine how bad the non-touch version would be. I think I would need to go for the touch if I needed to replace my Kindle 3.

    Re: Kindle 4

Do you use the keyboard enough to warrant the extra price though?

I`ve had mine for about 6 months and cant think of any situation where i`ve needed the keyboard.

It isn't often that you need the kbd though (searches) and as Funkstar says, page numbers. I found the lack of numbers a pain at first, but I've got used to it n92!

    Re: Kindle 4

Have had it for around 2 weeks now and I really recommend it. Slightly more portable than the Keyboard and fits nicely in the pocket. If you aren't doing a lot of web browsing or typing, just e-reading then it's a lovely little device, fast too.

    Re: Kindle 4

So Plonk, where did you get yours? I want one for my baby girl as she flies to Kuala Lumpur regularly and it would be much better than her usual 15 books, but I see little point in buying the soon-to-be-obsolete version.

Personally, yes I do, but I take the point - most people wouldn't. As for how good the touch one is, dunno. I use the KB (mainly annotations on documents). It's usable for brief notes, but I sure wouldn't want to do WP on it. And if you just read books, it's probably utterly irrelevant.

Looks like it's a moot point. The keyboard version is only available with 3g on Amazon UK now...
