    New 4:3 28" Tv

Hey all, im on a budget and i need a better tv than the one ive already got, so its time to shell out for a new one...
Ive nailed it down to the following three, I believe the woolworths one will be hardest to get, but here they are, please tell me what ones you think are best

Beko 28" Nicam Stereo TV with 2 Scarts

    or

Alba 28" Nicam Tv 1 SCART

The tv i was originally looking at is the following toshiba, but if i can buy the Beko from Argos, still have 2 scarts, have a 14 day return policy and collect it on the spot, then im thinking that would be my best bet...

    Finally,
Toshiba Nicam 28" TV, 2 Scarts

Advice here would be much appreciated

    I don't think they are...
There is a Beko Widescreen for £179 in argos that has flatscreen of apparent 32" effect, but the screen size states 28", although in the screenshot in my catalogue it looks biggger than 28", anyways ENOUGH! I do not want a widescreen tv!

Why are you looking at 4:3. You can get a 16:9 28" for the same money.

Um....because 4:3 gives you a lot more screen area for the same money? Because most console games are still 4:3? Because widescreen programs viewed on a 28" 4:3 look fine, whereas 4:3 programs viewed on a 28" widescreen look tiny?

I was going to suggest you look around for one of the Sony 29" models, I have a KV29K5U and it rules, but they seem to have stopped selling them in this country unfortunately. Could be worth checking loot/ local paper? They really are good.

I'd definately go for the Tosh out of the three you list.

A brand name of sorts? Toshiba are very respected in the TV making market... which is certainly more than can be said for Beko or Alba...

Well i have now purchased a tv
I decided to go for the Tosh, but Woolies told me the offer had ended, so i tried for the Beko from Argos, but was told the delivery could be any time from 35 days onwards, so i decided for the Alba. Fortunately index had 1 left, so I nabbed it, and upon returning it home, found its a much better tv than it claims to be

    Changes:
    >2 Scarts Instead of 1, both supporting RBG
    >Side A/V
    >16:9/4:3/Auto Selectable Picture format
    >Fastext
    >2x10W RMS Output
    >Equalizer utility to control the sound exactly as you want it
    >Nice full function remote with batteries

I have not finished eploring the wonders this tv has to offer, but i certainly am happy with the first night after using it
    The TV:

    and the remote...

Seems the Alba is starting to cave in... picture quality on the xbox has taken a sudden turn for the worse, dvd playback is producing strange pixels in some scenes, but tv reception is unaffected... i am strongly considering returning this tv considering this sudden decline... any ideas as to what it could be?
    Maybe its Alba...

Check the connections, if they are fine then its faulty and you should definately return it.
