    RIO500 mp3 player help

    hello
    just got myself a rio 500 mp3 player but the software that came with it is for windows 98 and refuses to install on my xp.Ive found a couple of sites for it but none i can make much sense of.Anyone know where i can download some software so i can get some decent music on the player.

    If you've got XP, just plug it in. (It's USB isn't it?).

    XP should detect the device/install the drivers automatically, and it will appear as removable storage in My Computer/Windows Explorer.

    That should be it anyway...

    it's an antique player, no official apps for xp.

    infact, looks like evn riorad explorer doesn't support it

    I have the Rio600

    There is a patch on Rios site (quite hard to find) that makes all there old players work with WMP9/10 - works quite well although sometimes it'll want to be switched on, then plugged in - or vice versa, if WMP freezes, just disconnect the player and it'll start working again

    It isnt supported for xp but ive managed to get it sorted anyway.got the drivers and then i have to use realone player to upload the mp3's to the player.Alot easier than i thought it was going to be.In case there's anyone else out there that was stuck like me,get the drivers etc. from here.
