ok....its Friday morning....me and Sair watched another 30 minutes last night.

Sorry guys....I tried for ya..I really did.

It was boring...the CGI was superb, the skeleton effects superb, and for a few moments I was hooked once Depp was saved from his prison cell by Bloom...

but I have to say....too Hammed Up...too cheesey ....and Depp's accent is dire..its all over the place. Cant make out WHAT it is.

Whats with using an upturned boat underwater, as a submarine.......jeeezz....

    First bit I watched....2/10
Second bit, in very good humour (holiday next week ) ....3/10

Orlando is the ONLY reason I carried on.

It got ejected tho.....will prob never see the end. Just too boring.

Put in a Camel Trophy Video that Tumble lent me....

    HOOKED 10 seconds

    Laterz guys

    Orlando Bloom *rubs knees*
    Johnny Depp *rubs knees again*
Keira is a pretty young thing too!

OMG.. How can you not love this movie??????? Clear your schedule.. Make yourself comfortable and watch it all! I've watched it about 6 or 7 times now and never got bored of it.

Jack Sparrow, like Marmite, you either love or loathe.

'Nother vote here for Depp being fantastic in the film. One of the funniest characters I've ever seen...

'Sparrow, you're the worst pirate I've ever heard of.'

'Ah, but you have heard of me.'

Bloom? Just another pretty boy with a smidgen of acting ability..at least Depp's got depth...

Didn't think the film was great though. Felt that it missed a lot of opportunities to be truly fantastic. That shockwave effect was spine tingling, and nothing after it really lived up to it.

I absolutely adored the film; I thought Depp was fabulous. OB was a bit...well...like lettuce left too long in the sun, but Jack Sparrow? "I may have deserved that..."? And my personal favourite:

Elizabeth: So that’s it then? That’s the secret grand adventure of the infamous Jack Sparrow? You spent three days lying on a beach, drinking rum?!

Jack: Welcome to the Caribbean, love. [hands her a bottle]

    Priceless...

    Thumbs up

    Sacrilege!

How can you not like this film? Tis a glorious bit of tongue in cheek swash-buckling action! And how could you not enjoy the ship combat near the middle of the film? Don’t forget to turn your system up to real loud when that scene start. Inspired me to go buy Master and Commander - not a bad film either...

i agree with u mate, found pirates so dull, turned it off halfway through. Normally like jonny depp films, but this was poo. Now The 9th Gate was a cool film

What a dull dull film. We managed 45 minutes and the ONLY bit that grabbed my attention was when the lass fell off the top of the cliff and as she hit the water, her Pirate pendantt sent a shock wave out...

had me hooked for 5 minutes....then I got bored again.

Looked at Sair...she looked at me....

    I hit eject.

    What a sack

And to make matters worse, the next film we watched we had no idea about and it was ACE

    Arnie in Eraser......with RAIL GUNS

Now I wqould NORMALLY love a good Piracte stylee film...my Buckle is permanently in need of Swashing...but Pirates was dull....

and yet Arnie had us hooked in less than 5 minutes.

Question is: DO we try Pirates again, or do I just give up?

Knox sent me loads of great films and Eraser was the first outta the box...what a cool cool fim

    Zak

Next time I come over I'm going to tie you to a chair and force you to watch this film all the way through

But seriously it is a class film, with Depp's tongue in cheek portrayal of Jack Sparrow being a masterclass of stylish acting. Better even than Burt Lancaster in the Crimson Pirate (bits of which it steals from).

The ending has a nice twist too
If it ain't broke, fetch a bigger hammer

    No way that film rocks!

Totally agree with the "I may have deserved that" line, so so funny.

Miss Knightly really is quite the attractive woman, which is really also quite the understatment.

I thought it was a quite nice, cute movie . A really family movie..I guess I didn't think it was such a special movie though..and I think Johnny Depp made it quite well, being Jack Sparrow.

Pirates is, imo, one of the best films i've seen for a while. One everyone can watch, plenty of action and comedy, all in a a good film.

Arnie's films are all bit, too much shooting not enough acting for my liking. But Eraser is damn good
