I cant listen lol I'm just trying to get a good set of speakers and then that series will be the series from which I will get the rest of my setup :P
Of the two, get the Monitor Audio RX6's! IMO of course - and you can still get matching surrounds later (in before abaxas pipes up again :p )
Soooooo what did I get I hear you ask?
RX6 Pair
RX Centre
RX-FX Pair
Arriving on Tuesday. can't wait :D
Err, budget....window....out of?
Enjoy - I've just bought a Monitor Audio RSW12 and I'm mightily impressed :)
Pretty much mate. Got them for £1000 second hand :/
That isn't bad for the entire set - the RRP on them new would be substantially higher?
Yes it doesn't come with the sub (think I will get bk sv400 at some point) so I think new would be about 1650 minus delivery to NI. So not bad and they still have warranty.
I know my amp isn't good enough for them but it will have to do until Christmas or so. Just hope they are a lot better than my previous speakers
Which amp are you thinking? The new Denon's are supposed to be pretty good... :)
I am using the Yamaha RXV-671
At Christmas I will try and get a good one second hand I think. Currently funds are minus :P
Nice....
Well - thread revival!
Still using these speakers, love them!!
I am still using my Yamaha RXV-671 and it is serving me well.
Looking at a small upgrade soon - thinking that as I have no sub I could get the SVS SB2000 - what do you guys think?
Also, should I look at upgrading my receiver? It sounds great but I wonder if I am missing out on better sound? Hard to tell without hearing I guess but AVForums said that I should be using a £1000 amp rather than £300?
Thanks :D
I bought an SVS sub a number of years ago. It's probably the last piece of AV equipment I will ever upgrade, it's truly stellar.
You don't need to spend £1k on an amp these days, although the cheaper stuff is cheaper for a reason. I recently went from a Pioneer VSX AS4ASi (that cost £1200 back when) to a Denon AVR-X2000 which I paid £270 for new (but discounted). I do not feel it was a step down at all. In the interim I tried a few Onkyo units and none of them could hold a candle to the Pionner (or Denon).
