    New toy

I got in to work today and one of the bloked asks if I want a free music thing, his description. So I reply with yeahh will take a look. Go and open the back of his car and there sits a Pioneer Dolby digital 5.1 receiver, freeee to a good home. Only problem is that I need some compact and cheap speakers to get me going, any suggestions?
    Cheers

Yeah..Richers are the way to go.......maybe buy their Gale speaker set....

    http://www.richersounds.co.uk/index....l.php&p=205416

    £150 the lot

OR build one yourself.....2 pairs of the same speakers is really better, so front and rear are equal power...BUT , sometimes thats not possible in your front room....hence the smaller rears in Speaker bundles .

REMEMBER....SHIELDED CENTRE spekaer....so the magnets dont kill your TV

it's not really necessary to have mahoosive speakers like mine as rears, often you get a better surround effect with smaller bi-pole or even tri-pole speakers mounted up high (just like they have at the cinema) for better sound dispersal. i prefer more power though!

i'd suggest that 3 pairs of missiong m71i's at £180 will sound a lot better than those gales though, if you don't mind stand mounters all round, it may not look like a 'proper' a/v setup but it will sound like one, and then you've always got a spare speaker if you later move to 6.1! as Zak say you want magnetically shielded if they're going to be near your tv/monitor etc, which those missions m71i's are.

ask for a demo at richer sounds, i'd imagine the missions m71i's i suggested ^, though they may only be small, will sound a lot better.

There is a really titchy Richers in sevenoaks near me, this place is the size of an average mcdonalds toilet, but is still ace for picking up bargains. Luckily there is a larger one in Maidstone, will try and have a nose at weekend. Although I am currently looking at a Klegg speaker package cheaper than at Richers, hmmmmm decisions decisions.
    All the best
