Best Christmas gift for 11 years old, under £100?

I am looking at some new toys, robots, watches, anything that is electronic , under £100 and will keep the boy busy for more than 2-3 days...
I failed already last years with some toys like Harry Potter Wand (£70) and Minecraft video studio (£30) so I am trying to avoid mistake and maybe you guys have some ideas ?

I'm no expert, but I'd suggest a generic approah is to come from what your little boy is into. What would have suited me perfectly (had they existed), at that age, was a Kindle and some e-books. But it sure wouldn't exactly rock a lot of 11-yr old's boats.

What kind of thing does he like, when he gets to do exactly what he wants? What's he into? Phone? Bike? Sports? Microscope? Old-syle chemistry set (yeah, my age is showing, but oh boy, did I have fun with various pongs from mine, 50 years ago)? Model plane/helicopter/drone?

What do 11-yr olds do these days? Maybe come at it from that direction.

EDIT - Maybe not the chemistry set. I seem to remember my parents being much less amused by the various whiffs and stinks, and occasional flash of light, than I was.

EDIT 2: Or, get him the chemistry set, AND a shed at the end of the garden. The far end.

Amazon has a gift finder, I just happened to be browsing it for my 8 year old. Even if you don't get it from them, it'll give you some ideas.
