I've been using the Sony MDR-EX650AP Got them on an Amazon deal and they've been pretty decent. Good build quality, clear sound and great fit with Comply tips.

I've been using a set of E10's for near on 3 years now, used every day. Very good value and build quality. The sound is well balanced a smooth top end.

I'm currently using XiaoMi Pistons, 15 quid from GearBest, I've also just got some IE800 clones off AliExpress, 10 quid delivered to UK and I seriously cannot believe how they can produce such astonishing sound, esp the bass. They need 20-30 hours to run in, but once done, wow.

Another vote for Sennheiser CX 300 II here.

I've had them for years and haven't been particularly kind to them, but they are still in great condition and still sound very good.

They're not just pretty good!! For the price these are excellent, they've obviously got some kind of licensing deal with Xiaomi going on as these are exactly the same as the old Xiaomi Pistons and Xiaomi use 1more tech/design in some of their earbuds. Wouldn't be surprised if Xiaomi are behind or own 1More thinking about it.

I bought the soundmagic e10 a few years ago after reading what hifi reviews of how there was little competition in that price range, since replaced with the same again after losing and them still being highly recommended by the what hifi bods
To my non musically tuned ears they are the best I've owned.

I'm no expert but the clarity and range is noticable.
They're big fat things (dual drivers) but often come under £40 with various sales. If you're lucky you get 3 wires, standard, + mic and bluetooth.
That is a design weak spot that if you do keep swapping cables the sockets will fail.

Still, I am happy with them.

I made the mistake of getting the iphone ones, don't bother unless you have an iphone, the remote doesn't play that well with android.

Out of that list I only own the Sennheisser CX300ii...

+1 for the Sennheissers, always been my go to brand for headphones/earbuds. Defs not an audiophile though.

The Tin T2's are a pretty good option! They're my default suggestion nowadays when friends ask for a good cheap wired earbud - though that's becoming a rarer and rarer question to be asked. If you're willing to wait a while there's a whole plethora of good options shipped from places like AliExpress.

Look at the big marketplaces. I would also recommend waiting for Black Friday and buying some cooler model at a discount. Very little is left until Black Friday.

While in theory I call myself an audiophile - the apple earphones that come with iphones (or used to when i bought my last iphone ~6 years ago) are just nowhere near good enough for me - for anything I'm buying separately, the sound is usually decent enough, and I'm more concerned with durability, as they seem to break often and easily. My solution is not to spend more on a better pair but spend less and use them less. My preference is for active sound-isolating earphones, mine are Taotronics, they're not as good as the over ear sound-cancelling headphones but they make travelling on trains and planes a lot more tolerable for my sensitive ears, that is until the joyless cabin crew tell me to take them out for the safety briefing and i give them my most irritated glare before realizing they're preparing my food and put a smile back on my face.
