I like this. I like samsumg and I liked the idea of Boxee (it just suffered from a few issues)... bring on the Boxumg or the Samee or something.

I think we can safely say that the Boxee hardware and service is dead in the water.
Samsung didn't buy a product, they bought some software, some experience and a bunch of guys that built it.
Samsung have already announced that the Boxee servers will go dark this time next week:

Got a Boxee at home actually, really hoping that if they're killing off the infrastructure they'll at the very least release a patch to allow you to use it locally.
i heard the boxee hasnt had an update in over a year so this should help put an end to that
Isn't Boxee basically just a modified old version of XBMC though with a custom UI and some plugins? Plus a few bits of standard hardware from theri Dlink/Iomega partnerships. I'm really surprised there is enough IP there for Samsung to consider it worth buying them, especially for $30M
