The Goonies = WB Press Release, Duff DVD

    Hi Guys

Well there must be some movie nuts out there who are big on their 80's classics and who has recently bought the goonies on the dvd that was released last monday 4th of October. Well for all of you who are looking for the commentary with the cast (for those who want to see what they are upto now) is missing off the DVD. Warner Brothers UK has released a press release that explains the problem asking you to send the movie back to them for a replacement with the full contents as it should of been.

Warner Home Video regrets to announce that, due to a manufacturing error, the DVD version of The Goonies has been distributed with an incomplete disc.

The incomplete DVD disc contains English language only and not the full range of languages listed on the sleeve. In addition, the audio commentary is missing from the disc.

    www.warnerbros.co.uk

The correct version containing all the listed languages plus the audio commentary will be available at all retailers from next Monday 11 October.

Anyone who has purchased a copy of the DVD containing the incomplete disc can exchange their DVD for the correct version by following these instructions:

    * Remove the DVD disc from its box
    * Place the disc in an envelope along with your name and address
    * Seal the envelope and send FREEPOST to:

    GOONIES
    FREEPOST SCE 4551
    PO BOX 327
    HAYES

Please allow up to 28 days for delivery of replacement.

Well, play only get away with that because it's mail order, I'm sure if you got it from somewhere like WHSmiths or Woolies you wouldn't have a problem.

Send it back under the distance selling act. Send it back as faulty goods. Retailers don't have any rights to deny a refund. It's actually illegal to have a restricting notice.

Can I ask the consumer to take the matter up with the manufacturer?
The rights given to consumers are against the supplier of the goods and not the manufacturer (unless he is also the supplier). A manufacturer’s guarantee or warranty are given in addition to these rights. You in turn may have rights against the manufacturer.
