I know this isn't 2005 but can anyone recommend or suggest MP3 players for around £25?
I'm thinking Sansa Clip 4GB, what do you think?

My vote is for the Sony B172/3;

Despite the reviews, I had one like these for a good few years before my smartphone came along and it seems like they have kept a lot of the things I liked. The USB drive form means it's easy to charge and transfer your music. It charges fast and delivers good playtime. It's still compact but has a screen which helps you naviagate (which I assume is something you'd like to do based on your initial choice). If a display is not necessary, there are a ton of knock off products which will do something similar for less. Otherwise I liked this when paired with my Sennheiser CX300s (this was a while ago).
Thanks for the suggestion.
I'm buying the player for someone else, I don't want to mention names but it's for someone who's a bit technophobic and insists on using a phone with capabilities from the last century on the count that modern devices are too complicated, which funny seeing how they're perfectly capable of navigating a complex GUI on other devices.
I promised I'd get something 'good' so I won't be buying knock-offs.
Bit late, but Sansa Clip+ -es are excellent- bought four now for myself, my mum, my wife, and my mother in law. All of us love them, me especially, as mine is Rockboxed (which surprisingly would be relatively O.K. for a technophobe, as long as they have excellent eyesight! :lol: ).
Just bought my first Clip Zip as my wife managed to break the power button on her Clip+ by accidentally flinging it across the room. It still switches on if you plug it in, so I'm going to make it my permanent car MP3 player I think (not sure whether to Rockbox it first, I don't need balance control in the car). The Clip Zip seems even better if anything though it's just a tiny smidge larger than a Clip+. Anyway Clip Zips are now £17.99 delivered ('refurbished') on ebay from my favourite vendor, I only found this thread as I was looking to bump my Bargains thread from a few months ago.
