Best sub £300 GBP headphones? I think I've found them!

My HD8 DJs arrived yesterday. Oh my goodness. It's hard to imagine how headphones can sound better than your current pair, especially when they don't cost much more!

These things are ridiculously good, especially for the 210 GBP I paid for them. Metal construction, awesome carry case, nice cables and a spare set of velour pads.

The bass slams the side of your head. Songs that weren't bass heavy now are. Highs are crisp - piano sounds beautiful. Vocals are clear and gentle. Songs such as I Remember by Deadmau5 sound outstanding - and the headphones haven't even burnt in yet! They look extremely promising indeed.

I also own a pair of B&W P5 and Custom One Pros. They're better than both - a hybrid of the two, you could say.

If you want a more full review I'd be happy to provide one.

Please don't confuse it with boomy. They become so much more defined rather than bassy. Makes it sound as though they're just bass. Far from it

I must be honest, any headphone that has "DJ" in their model fills me with apprehension

If you live near Cardiff, you're welcome to borrow them and see for yourself that they're not cheesy bass heavy headphones like many others I've tested

I do like Sennheiser myself though

They're very cheap off amazon - I got some new ones for my sr80s a while back.

Usually sennheiser's 'DJ' range means closed back with a floppy up ear. Personally I'm pretty happy swapping back between my SR80s and my PC350SEs (although the latter tend to get more use do to mic etc). Although I can tell a marginal difference with a good source, I'm rarely in a situation where I either have one or theres little enough background noise to care aboutit.

There's quite a big difference in quality between my motherboard audio and my phone. The Xperia Z1s audio output quality is among the best I've ever used.

I've heard the 880s - I don't think they're as good, but then they're completely different. Sound is, at the end of the day, subjective.

It is all subjective and if you like what you have then that is all that matters..

Re: Best sub £300 GBP headphones? I think I've found them!

Having tried Sennheiser in John Lewis recently, I was appalled at how poor they were. I thought B&W were better in everyway. Personally though as I've an okay hi-fi setup I am quite choosy when it comes to definition.
