TV audio to Bluetooth headset help required.

I have an LG TV which switches off it's speakers if you plug in a 3.5mm jack but it does have an optical/digital out. How can I get the TV sound to my Bluetooth headset and incorporate volume control? The reason is my wife's hearing is so bat-like she insists on having the TV sound at an almost subliminal level!

    Many thanks

It'd be an expensive option, but this might do the job. It has an optical input & Bluetooth connectivity. Not sure about volume control via Bluetooth, if that's what you were after?:

Looking at the pics I cannot see the optical input port though it claims Toslink which is square isn't it?

Thanks for the info, cheaper than a new telly if if works.

I think the 3.5mm socket on the back can be used as an optical input with an adapter, something like this:

There may well be cheaper alternatives, of course...

    Edit!

Found the manual for the Creative E5...it definitely does have an optical input

Thanks for that, the mini-optical cable was news to me. Could be a useful bit of kit.

Just to point out that the e5 isn't a bluetooth host. You may already have a 3.5mm>bluetooth contraption, but the e5 isn't one in case thats what you were looking for.

It matters not anymore as I have abandoned BT and got a pair of Sony DS6500 which have optical input.

These are what I use for gaming, I have been really happy with them on both comfort and sound quality

Re: TV audio to Bluetooth headset help required.

Initially, I had them plugged into the TV and had a bit of an echo. Using the sky box eliminated that as does using my blu-ray so I have two cables for a quick swap when watching discs. Found a brand new pair on Ebay for £120!

Seems the sound blaster gizmo wouldn't have worked as someone pointed out.

Make sure to check the switches on the side of the transmitter, there are some effects and compression features built into it that you will probably want to be switched off!
