    Aaaaand another new project :)

    Picked up a beautiful German made Transmiranda radio with twin speakers. Gprgeous cabinet with a lovely vintage dial.

    Electronics are sadly shot, so will gut and fit a SMSL SA50 amplifier and maybe a Bluetooth Rx. Got a nice little pair of full range 50W speakers with the same mounting holes.

    Its for the kitchen.

    I need your level of competency. I just got a £8 bluetooth speaker with 18650 (?) in it and I've been enjoying DJing my my mum's garden this morning for a fair while.

    I was thinking it could have done with an audio out jack or phono plugs. You don't win them all I guess?!

    Enjoy the project. Change the drivers maybe?

    Ive stripped all the walnut (real shame, gorgeous veneer) and it will be replaced with sticky back plastic. Yeah, I know, not good, but to veneer properly would be too pricey.

    Front panel is just hardboard so am planning to replace with 12mm MDF. 12mm birch ply vertical bracers on the the inner side of each speaker.

    Vinyl covered, new FP 12mm MDF, cutouts for speakers and front panel plastic. Internal bracing.

    Todays work - FP sprayed, speakers and covers done, old dial with white backpiece, hole for SA50 amp.

    OK, it aint gonna win any hifi or design couincil awards, but it works, it sounds great and I did it all myself
