    USB charging station

I'm wondering whether anyone knows of a 'USB charging station'. This would be a box with several different types of charging cables attached (retractable or spiral). The unit would provide a USB micro A, micro B, mini A, mini B and Apple Lightning connectors so that I could charge anything in my workshop with ease.

I have the individual cables but would like everything available instantly without have to unplug/plug cables in.

    Re: USB charging station

There are plenty of boxes around with lots of USB sockets on them, my son has one for his bedroom. Problem is there is more than one fast charging spec but the basic 2.4A charging at 5V should work fine.

Cables break, so I would go with such a bunch of sockets design.

I wouldn't buy the cheapest either. Spending £2 on a charger for your £180 tablet seems like a recipe for a fried tablet.

Anker make good charge sites, I would go for braided cables, but nothing lasts very long,in my experience.

    Re: USB charging station

As above, get a USB charge hub something like https://www.amazon.co.uk/Anker-Charg...JYB60FKBZ2TGVK or https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B01F52DGBC?psc=1 and just leave the cables connected. That way you get the exact connections you need and can replace the cables as/when they break.

    Re: USB charging station

Cheers all. That Anker box looks good. Plenty of outputs and single mains cable rather than an external PSU.

I have the white one and it is very good. Anker also have the best customer service I've come across.

    Re: USB charging station

I have a couple as well, mainly used for hotel rooms etc where sockets are at a premium. Highly recommended.

    Re: USB charging station

I'll 2nd the the Anker USB Charge Hub.
If you want to be a bit more cutting edge, they produce one with a USB-C port:

    Re: USB charging station

Can't really argue with the suggestions above, but to throw a slightly left-field suggestion in, if you want the charging point somewhere there's already a double socket, you could think about replacing the socket with a faceplate that also has USB sockets, e.g. http://www.wickes.co.uk/British-Gene...White/p/148097 (I happen to have a Wickes locally so that's usually my go to a bit of a google should turn up plenty of options though).

I've seen a few variants with three of four USB sockets recently, which I would imagine would be enough to serve your needs, and it would means less cables trailing around, which may be of concern in a workshop?

Scaryjim, probably a good idea. Less mess and everyone will use it!

    Re: USB charging station

I’d definitely recommend the Anker one, their build quality is great and they seem to charge really fast. They do a line of extra strong cables too so you could get a selection of those to plug in.
