What's your recommended Smart LED Bulb?
Just wondering - for those who have purchased and use 'Smart' LED Bulbs, what would you recommend? I have been looking around and my simple and possibly ignorant requirements are:
Be able to adjust 2000-6000K,
Be able to adjust 300-1000 Lumens,
Have ideally 80+ CRI (85+ is a bonus).
Future proofing so they work with command control stuff like voice activation solutions is something I guess to also want.
Re: What's your recommended Smart LED Bulb?
I use the Philips Hue. Works with Siri and Alexa. (However the voice commands don’t direcly allow colour control, but you can preset scenes which can be selected, or just use the Hue app)

Peter, do you need a Hue Bridge to control hue bulbs?

Generally yes. You can use individual lamps with the individual remote, but to get the best use you need the hub. The remote switch can be integrated into the hun system anyway.
You definitely need to hub to interface to AppleHomekit/Siri/Alexa etc and to have remote control via the app.

I also have Philips Hue bulbs, highly reccommend. Quality product, not had any problems.
The hub is very small, but does require a dedicated network port/cable from your router/switch and power. I believe if you have the Amazon Echo Plus device then you can do without the hub, but it has limited functionality compared to the hub, and you will always require the hub to do firmware upgrades on the bulbs etc.

Light bulbs that need firmware updates. What a time to be alive.

I have a Xiaomi Yeelight, and it works really well Amazon Alexa/ Echo. you can get it to turn on the lights, change colour, change brightness etc by voice. The Xiaomi Yeelight has a good range of colours and is well of the best budget smart lights I'd recommend.
Re: What's your recommended Smart LED Bulb?
I have a Hive system and found the bulbs quite good - though expensive they were brighter than I expected.
Im probably comparing them to cheaper bulbs from the past with equivalent wattage.

soon your fridge, washing machine and hand mixer will need it to :>
Re: What's your recommended Smart LED Bulb?
Xiaomi Yeelight very useful
Re: What's your recommended Smart LED Bulb?
I just bought a couple of LIFX bulbs. They work with both Alexa and Google Home.
Re: What's your recommended Smart LED Bulb?
Another +1 for Phillips Hue, the ease of setup and compatibility with all assistants is great.
Another thing people don't always mention is that only the bridge connects to your WiFi, not each bulb unlike some others which can potentially clog up your network if you have a ton of WiFi connected bulbs.
Lastly, you can also add a lot of non-hue ZigBee bulbs to your Hue system and control those too which is quite nice.
Re: What's your recommended Smart LED Bulb?
The cheapest way to start: IKEA Tradfri Smart Lighting ...
uses ZigBee you get two E27 white spectrum bulbs, a remote control and the all-important gateway
Re: What's your recommended Smart LED Bulb?
+1 for Tradfri
I've got them at home (in my living room) and they have full white spectrum (warm white --> cool white) I don't think they go all the way up to 6000K though.
Currently the GU10s aren't available (will be in May 10 apparently) but I've also looked into Gledoptos that also use the ZigBee protocol so it should connect as expected.
Re: What's your recommended Smart LED Bulb?
For the quality i recommend Sengled Smart Wi-Fi LED bulb , For the price i recommend Cree Connected LED Bulb.

:D
Although, oddly, if there were fireware updates available, I'd feel like the company got it, as pretty much any non-trivial software or firmware is likely to have some issues with it that should be patched.
