Kenwood car sterio with no sound

I have got a kenwood cd/radio player in my car, it worked perfectly for a year and a half and i took it out to do some work on my car and it now produces no sound. i've checked the speaker wires and they are exactly how they should be. the radio has power and plays the cd in the drive but just produces no sound what so ever.... any ideas. thanks

When you pluged it in again did you turn it on before your connected the speakers back to it?

If so you could have blown the amp which is something I did once.
