I like some animie, don't watch alot though. depends on the mood i'm in.
I love manga. Got my mates into it a couple of weeks ago and now they have started a collection, lots of 3x3 eyes and. Blood the last vompire. I cant remember the others. Akira was the first one i saw. it was fantastic. But ghost in the shell remains my favourite
watched a couple of the Cowboy BeBop ones.. not really my thing..
For one small moment i thought i was becoming an adict of Yu-Gi-OH but then i clicked and came back into reality

I'm trying to get into Anime at the moment.
Currently in the proccess of getting 'Ghost In The Shell' due to an advisment.
www.anime-city.co.uk is a good site with a good forum.
Not a massive anime fan. I do like the violent ones though :) Ninja Scroll is my fave and then I think Fist of the North Star is a close second.
My girlfriend's an anime fanatic, has loadsa vids, comics, etc and draws it herself. I don't mind it (I'm sure there are worse hobbie's g/f's can have) but find some of the films boring and cheesy.
i love ur Gf, mine hates anime and i love the rubbishrubbishrubbishrubbishe :)
Urotsukidoji is definately the most disturbing..... and ninja scroll is cool too.
just watched Escaflowne ( all 26 eps. ) go get it... now ! its the best series ull c.
Urotsukidoji is fing weird man...veeeery strange.
Doomed Megalopolis, I saw on Channel 4 years ago, love to get a copy on dvd but it doesn't seem to be out over here...
Loved Akira, got Metropolis a month or so ago and that was very entertaining in terms of wow factor, but the story wasn't great...v. cool though.
Love to watch more, but....got the first half of Neon Genesis Evangelion, of which I have watched half, but its a bit odd....is the second half more coherent??
Ahhh anime, /me drools. gilga told you, you would like escaflowne.
Anime is great, but it has to be in Japanese, and subbed. Dubs just suck ass IMO. Umm, anime seen so far
DB
DBZ
DBGT
Hellsing
Hunter X Hunter
Escaflowne
Flame of Recca
Hack Sign
GITS - Stand Alone Complex
Nightwarriors
Final Fantasy Unlimited

Urotsukidji is a total desensitisation to everything. Well wierd and quite sickening tbh.
Never heard off escaflowne?!

Never heard of escaflowne??? I dont believe it. Go and check out at least episodes 1-5, and i have a feeling you will be hooked. If not, then there is no hope.
ME ME!! I'm trying to watch as much anime as possible.
My first proper Anime I watched was Evangelion. I watched all the series and movies over the space of about 3-4 days. And WOW! I have to say that thats the only time that a show has had such an effect on me. I literally couldnt stop watching it.
Then I guess the next would be Outlaw Star which I watched while CNX were showing it. That was way lighter in tone and less absorbing, but a damn fine show.
I've watched about 50% of Cowboy Bebop so far and I love what I've seen up to now.
I've only really watched Ghost in the Shell and Blood in terms of movies, but I've got Metropolis, Blue, Ninja Scroll and a few others to get around to watching.
I saw the animatrix, not quite the same but close.
I'm in the middle of watching a few series atm, Blue Gender, Noir and Witch Hunter Robin. And I have to say I'm very impressed by Witch Hunter Robin. I've not seen many anime that have the same look as it, its rather dark and moody artwork, but its seeming like a damn fine series.
I've also watched quite a few of the DBZ and DBGT episodes now as my house mates a DBZ maniac.
Its nice to see a few other fans round here. :)
I'm a bit of an anime addict. Some of my recommended Anime (not strong on films - I tend to prefer the TV series):
TV series:
Last Exile - Still airing. Steampunk flying battleships, superb visuals.
Initial D - 'realistic' Japanese boy racer antics
Cowboy Bebop - Starsky and hutch/Magnum PI in space?
Ghost in the Shell TV series - slightly different than the film, better.
All old School UC Gundam
Gundam Seed and Gundam X - more modern but slightly less emphasis on 'realism'
Rah Xephon - Modern big mecca show, Evangelion esk but better
Inu Yasha - Cutesey (well, by my standards) girl loves half demon ninja thang.
Hack//sign - about people playing an mmorpg. Slow paced.
Wolfs Rain - wolves (able to turn into people) searching for paradise in a future world extinct of wolves.
Films:
Vampire Hunter D Bloodlust - same people as Ninja Scroll.
Ninja Scroll - classic Demon vs Nija stuff.
Ghost in the Shell - Futuristic, slightly cyberpunk. Somewhat short.
Wrath of the Ninja - similar vein to Ninja Scroll
Most of the Big TV shows get film versions.
I'll download them in sept when i get to my uni house. I dont like buying anime straight off cause its very hit and miss tbh. If its good - ill buy it, it not it gets deleted.Quote:

Oh yea, i enjoyed the series better than the film. I thought the film was too short :( But the series is just one h00ge long film cut up basically. I love those bug things :D (forgotten what they are called).Quote:

Yeh, thats fair enough. I always like to watch a few episodes of an anime series before I go out and buy it. That way if it sucks i dont bother, but most of the time they dont. Except for Yu-Gi-Oh, I am so happy I didnt buy any of that carp.Quote:
