Latest project completed, old Pye valve radio as Bluetooth amp

Old Pye valve radio, scrapped the innards, added new two way stereo speakers (60w Gale Mini Monitors drivers) on a new baffle, new speaker cloth. New backboard with Nobsound Class D 50wpc Bluetooth amp, stereo phono sockets to rear panel. Cabinet stripped of old varnish using acetone (yuch), and given 6 new coats of fine yacht varnish with 2 days drying and a 1000 grit sanding between coats. Back to it's original glorious tones. Sounds unbelievable.

    Old and Tired -

    New and Shiny -

Even managed to keep the original 1954 (?) radio receiving licence

    Cheers, David
