Small soundbar for a kitchen telly
Hi Folks,
I've got a 28" LG smart telly with Plex, Netflix, Amazon etc. The only problem is that when I stream content from Plex, the centre channel is very quiet. This means I end up having to turn the volume right up to hear the speech, and the sound effects/music are just too loud. Can anyone recommend me a small soundbar with a central channel speaker?

If you want a dedicated centre channel you start entering the realm of surround sound and they're neither compact nor cheap.
You may be best checking out a virtual system, but you'd have to research whether you're able to control speech separately to all the other audio. Some have a speech boost setting or button.

I do find however, because modern TV's have such thin speakers and they rely on using a wall to bounce the sound into the room, any soundbar is instantly better and clearer as it's front projection. You're unlikely to need something with speech enhancement or dedicated channel. They've come a long way in recent times that you don't have to spend a fortune just to get better audio. I was amazed at a £20 USB one my friend had for his PC, clarity was great, had no bass but everything was clear.
I'd honestly pop down to you're local Curry's and check out the cheap ones, see what you think.

A bodge you can try is maybe disabling surround sound on your TV or otherwise flatten your audio input to 2.0?
