Re: 4k Streaming box/thing
One reason I went with Roku is that they have a version that uses an IR remote, not wireless or Bluetooth. The latter two are convenient in that they're not 'line of sight', but not so good if you use an IR universal remote like me. The Roku interface is a bit slow compared to some of the other alternatives (not sure if it's a limitation of the choice of hardware or software implementation?), but it gets the job done.
Re: 4k Streaming box/thing
I use an Firestick device for streaming
However, Nvidia shield is also a better altenative
Re: 4k Streaming box/thing
Apple TV 4k is the best streaming box I've owned.
Yes, it costs a lot, but you get what you pay for. iTunes movies in 4k are also head and shoulders above any streaming device and comparable to 4k disc release.
they can be had for £120 or so on a used market, and if you get one new, it comes with a year of Apple TV subscription.
