How do you focus your projector?

I just wondered what people thought was the bes way t get the best focus?

Up until yesterday, I used to do it from my viewing position and use some text to gauge when it was focused correctly.

Yesterday I stood next to the screen to make some adjustments to the height and noticed I could see the individual pixels. I tried focusing from there and found I could get a far sharper image being close up to the screen.

    How do you focus yours?

With the twiddly thing above the lens

I find that focusing it too exact gives it a kind of 'pointilised' effect, but this doesn't look too good when watching movies, so I slightly off-focus it from there.

You're not viewing from stood next to the screen, so focus it from where you sit. Like Norky, I too find a very, very slightly off focus image to be a lot more pleasing.

Thanks guys, I suppose it's all down to personal preferences really. I appreciate the feedback though and I shall try both methods to see which suits me best,
