I've got a few short WMV videos (those BMW short films) that I want to put on SVCD or VCD to play on a mates DVD player. What's the best way to go about it?

Provided his DVD player will read VCD/SVCDs - I get the impression it's pretty much pot luck whether one will or not - it should be easy enough to just drag the files into a new VCD/SVCD compilation in Nero or whatever and burn it to CD. I think doing that would give you the videos playing one after the other, and you could skip forward or back with the remote. You should be able to put a menu on as well but I don't know how, sorry.
I've never done this in practise so someone correct me if I'm wrong :)
Yeah Gubs is pretty much right.
Although I'm not sure if Nero supports WMV. You might have to convert them to MPEG first. www.doom9.org or www.vcdhelp.com will have programs/tutorials.
And most DVD players do play S/VCDs :)
Tmpeg?
Dead right Bindibadgi. TmpegEnc is the way to go - converted a few WMVs myself using this. vcdhelp.com seems down at the moment, but all the info on how to do it is there when it is back up.
