Ill try that in a sec but while i was waiting i riped a cd in raw wave as a whole file. It made the CUE file but how do i open them both with winamp as just doublec clicking on the wav file is just like a giant file called file1.wav

You need a pluggin for winamp. I will try and find it, but got to go out to a mates BBQ now. Good luck.
I thought i already added that, ill find it. I setup the FLAC thing in EAC, and I press the encode to MP3 thing to encode into FLAC. But if i select the CUE Image encoder then it rips it as a wave. How do i change this, or can it not be done?
EDIT: Apart from the reduced file size is there any other reason lossless files are better? (appart from the ID3 thing)
I think that there is no point in lossless as i have enough space and it does not reduce the size dramatically.

Fair enough, but once you get used to it it's very easy. I would say 50%+ small file sizes is fairly dramtic for lossless though.
Well FLAC on level 8 only made it 28% smaller, not worth it for me.
Thanks for all your help.

Ok, whatever suits you really. But you should be getting around 40-50% smaller. Anyway, no problem, hope you have at least found out a bit more about it all anyway
What do I need to be able to mount a CUE and FLAC file as a virtual CD? Alcohol and Daemon tools won't do it, "Invalid wave format".
Why not just rip into WMA or MP3 and use a media library in Winamp or Windows Media Player or something? Or just play them folder by folder. That's why I do. Unless you're listening on higher end hifi equipment you won't notice a difference between a well encoded MP3 and WAV.
But yes, WAV is raw uncompressed PCM shizniz, exactly like you'll get playing it through a CD Player

If i copy a cd from disk to disk ,and so not encoding to mp3 and then making a cd from that, does that keep he original sound, ie the wav?
