which light weight MP3 player for jogging?

ok guys i know nothing about these MP3 players as i have never needed one before as was always at a PC and as such never bothered with one.

i have now started jogging and could do with something light when i go out.

i have been tempted by these 2 units so far but kinda want to know if i should look else where/general ideas.

IPod nano - nice cos has 4gig of space price is quite high but meh it looks godly.

mobiblu - only 1gig i think so a little small but the unit is again tiny.

    any info appreciated!

iPod shuffle is awesome, I luvvit... so small and light! Don't bother with iTunes which annoys me to the nth degree but highly recommend copying your songs across manually, and then running a handy little python script that you can find here http://shuffle-db.sourceforge.net/. (Otherwise it won't play them)

if u're prepared to get a shuffle, why not get a Creative muvo instead, it's just as light and much cheaper, and can be used as a pen drive. But like the shuffle, they dont hold very much.

If youre wanting to spend ipod nano money, then you cant go wrong with either a 4gig muvo, orone of the sony solid state ones, cos sony = cool as a really cool thing wots been left in a freezer in the arctic for a week.

what's really amused me lately, is the number of people who think that ipods aren't the same as an MP3 player, and therefore MUST HAVE an ipod (of some variety/shape/form) so will pay throught the nose, quite willingly for the privilige... it makes me chortle.

agreed, it really does annoy me.

and those brainless idiots have to get everything apple etc. so it all ends up white this white that. and now u have podcasts, and everything has to be an ipod instead of an mp3 player.

especially as rio were the first manufacturer of mp3 playes they have been pratically forgotten (despite making one of the best - the karma) and have since gone into admin but were swiftly bought up.

i've got a creative zen touch, got it cos it was on special offer and it was the cheapest/best mp3 player for my budget. It does the trick, is 20GB, and cost less than an ipod mini. Ok so it might not be as light or dinky or fab coloured, but it sits in my bag/car and plays the music at decent quality, can't really ask much more!

Yep, had to fight with the girlfriend to get her to buy a hd3, for 115 quid, bargain of the year, cos she wanted an ipod.

Exactly. They're not even brilliant MP3 players. I'd much rather have something Creative.

Not brilliant? I personally haven't seen anything thats overall better and I HATE apple.

Everything that my freinds have bought has either had a few extra features with a bad design (i.e. break easily) or been very limited in comparison (storage space).

For me, the iPod is a perfect balance of function, features, robustness and capacity. There isn't another MP3 player out there I would rather have - and trust me, I would rather not own an apple product!

whoa cheers peeps.. i .. errr.. think .. didnt expect big response like this lol.

i did take a look at the shuffle but 1 gig of space isnt as much as i would really want. I have that on my phone and it only takes a couple of albums and its full. so i think i have decided there.

have taken a look at the 4/5 gig muvo units which are quite nice as they have a radio as well. but quite a bit bigger/weigh more than that nano thing. but maybe a better shape given its more square.

as for the ebuyer one i am not sure i really like the look of that unit. even though i have several 1gig SD cards kicking around here already.

humm nope its no good i am still not sure where to put the cash.

    *edit.. ROFL @ Flea
