Saw this today not expecting it to be that good, but it was actually very enjoyable. Not got quite the same feel as the original, but it's (obviously) far more up to date, some good actors and overall money well spent IMO!
Anyone else seen it?

i seen it on the plane going to Orlando.
Very enjoyable, surprised me as well. Mr Walberg i didn't expect to make it as an actor but really does quite well.
a very good film just spoiled by a name
I don't understand why the film companies could not have just re-branded the film something else. Why do they have to use the name of one GREAT movie to try and boost their profits.
Saying that, is it worth me spending my hard earned cash to see this ?
i have the same thought as u howard i was expecting some rubbish film and what i got was a pretty damn good one really enjoyed that film
seth green and jason stathams characters are worth seeing the film for by themselves
a few nods to the original in there i spotted but they didn't try and copy it exactly which is prolly for the best
Agreed! Very entertaining!Originally posted by Knoxville

Although it's not just those that make it good

I have yet to see the first one But this new version was fantastic and hearing Jonathan Ross slate it the other night on his film review just confirms to me that these reviewers just go out their way to say something is crap so they get recognised!
...Very entertaining, and very nice Mini's
Somehow me thinks Jonathon Ross doesn't to....these reviewers just go out their way to say something is crap so they get recognised!
I agree mate. Why slate the movie its a great laugh. Dont compare it to the original just enjoy it for what it isOriginally posted by TomWilko

I saw it last night, it was a lot better than I thought it was going to be! But then again I am a sucker for a good heist movie.
I saw the screener at the cinema's and i thought them Mini's looked quite sweet tooOriginally posted by TomWilko

I don't think it's feasible not to compare it to the original; it's taken the same name and hyped itself as a remake. Now I'll admit I haven't seen the new one, but it sounds like it's a perfectly reasonable film in its own right - it's just that a remake of the original would have to be pretty special to live up to it.Originally posted by steve threlfall

I think the italian job is great, funny, action packed and the mini's are well sweet.
