Hmmm. Reviews say it's a bit soft...
Best to pay a little more for the sigma 50mm or the nikon 60mm prime, methinks :)

Just been reading about this lens.
http://www.nikonians.org/html/resour.../100f35-1.html
Interesting link / lens that.... But I can't find any mention of price? And similarly, I can't find anywhere that stocks it :s
The D70 hath arrived :) Still getting used to it, but I quite like this shot :)
nice one hoody... :)
They cost around £120-140, and I think they are badged as cosina in the UK.
That's a pretty good price! I'll have to look further into it ¬_¬
@ Shiato Storm ~ A pet hate of mine, but it's Hoodi :o sorry, just something which really irritates me >.< thanks for the compliment, though :D The D70 is great. Well worth it :)
ALl the ones I can find on eaby are in the USA :( Might get one sent to my sisters place out there.
Got to ask Hoodi, cows?
hehe... :D

not hoodi
sorry!
Well done Shiato :D
What wrong with cowsFlibb? I just happen to live in an area mostly populated by dairy farms, so there are lots mooing around waiting to be shot / painted :D (the paintings aren't mine ~ but rather my cousins)
With a little fiddling I'm finding I can get reasonably decent close up shots, and some good DOF, with my 28-80 (example)...
As for that Cosina macro lens, the closes I could find was this... It doesn't appear to be quite the same lens, though.
edit : I meant to say Flibb. Honest.

It was me that asked about the cows, like the paintings a lot. I have some quiet nice sheep photos from Derbushire ;) Wife gives me some funny looks when I look at them.
Duh. Sorry Flibb.
£125... That's a nice price... £105 for the MF :o
Serisouly considering this one. Gonna look for some more pics, though...
Thanks for the linkage, Flibb :)
Annoying thing is that its available for $99 in the USA, works out at just over £55. The only thing I would want to check is that the D70 will meter with this lens on, am 99% sure it will but..... Will shove a post on Nikonians. Their forums are back up but most of this years posts got wipped when they went down, bummmer
Hmm. That is a bit annoying O_O
Let us know what those @ Nikonians say :)
Just took the plunge and picked up a Sigma 50mm macro, in the end... :)
Might get some kenko metered extension tubes for it, not sure...
Let us know how you get on with the phoenix, if you get it, Flibb :)
I'll be sure to post some pics with the 50mm when it arrives :D
I think that some of the sigma lenses are excellent value for money. Let me know how that one goes...
