Hmmm. Reviews say it's a bit soft...
Best to pay a little more for the sigma 50mm or the nikon 60mm prime, methinks

They cost around £120-140, and I think they are badged as cosina in the UK.
That's a pretty good price! I'll have to look further into it ¬_¬
@ Shiato Storm ~ A pet hate of mine, but it's Hoodi sorry, just something which really irritates me >.< thanks for the compliment, though The D70 is great. Well worth it
ALl the ones I can find on eaby are in the USA Might get one sent to my sisters place out there.

Well done Shiato
What wrong with cowsFlibb? I just happen to live in an area mostly populated by dairy farms, so there are lots mooing around waiting to be shot / painted (the paintings aren't mine ~ but rather my cousins)
With a little fiddling I'm finding I can get reasonably decent close up shots, and some good DOF, with my 28-80 (example)...
As for that Cosina macro lens, the closes I could find was this... It doesn't appear to be quite the same lens, though.
edit : I meant to say Flibb. Honest.

It was me that asked about the cows, like the paintings a lot. I have some quiet nice sheep photos from Derbushire Wife gives me some funny looks when I look at them.
Duh. Sorry Flibb.
£125... That's a nice price... £105 for the MF
Serisouly considering this one. Gonna look for some more pics, though...
Thanks for the linkage, Flibb
Annoying thing is that its available for $99 in the USA, works out at just over £55. The only thing I would want to check is that the D70 will meter with this lens on, am 99% sure it will but..... Will shove a post on Nikonians. Their forums are back up but most of this years posts got wipped when they went down, bummmer
Hmm. That is a bit annoying O_O
Let us know what those @ Nikonians say
Just took the plunge and picked up a Sigma 50mm macro, in the end...
Might get some kenko metered extension tubes for it, not sure...
Let us know how you get on with the phoenix, if you get it, Flibb
I'll be sure to post some pics with the 50mm when it arrives
I think that some of the sigma lenses are excellent value for money. Let me know how that one goes...
Not around too often!
