    Crystal DVD player - remote?

A while back I received a "Crystal Slimline DVD DiVX player" from ARIA as a replacement following an RMA. I have since misplaced the remote control, and like many product these days you cannot control a host of the functions (most notably you cannot navigate DVD menus!) so I was hoping to find a contact for the manufacturer or someone who knew of a replacement remote control, or had any idea what frequencies it might run at...

The DVD player I have is no longer sold by aria, and they (surprise surprise) do not answer emails...at all. Anyway, the player I have I think is the one being sold here:

Any info would be most welcome!

    un-named eh? ...*looks at sig*

What if it doesn't work though - a list of supported brands/products is unlikely to help as Crystal is a kind of no-name brand, I think it was an aria technology commissioned product but of course they're not known for being very helpful or communicative when it comes to any questions remotely outside the faq...

I will hunt around nuder the DVD player and see if I can see any part numbers etc that might give a clue as to who made the box - alternatively I could always open the thing up and see if I can find any info on the IC chips...

...then I will give in. My experience with universal remotes is that they feel cheap, eat up batteries, and typically don't work with many products.

It would be a bit of a gamble but one for all are usually pretty good. It likley to be made by one of the companies that it is already compatible with but it is just a matter of working your way though every code.

    Jamena,

Firstly - You are absolutely right about Aria - I still have bits missing from a system I ordered ages ago. I am going to issue a charge back, so their problem not mine.

They are selling your DVD player on sale atm... look at: http://www.aria.co.uk/productinfocom...pecialStatus=1

Also I have found it for sale at least on one other site: http://sirexonline.co.uk/product_inf...roducts_id=172

Ah-ha! Last rang them up, guy said they'd send out a new remote free, so fingers crossed! A rather unexpected bonus indeed!

update - remote arrived in the post this morning at work ...yet to be tested of course, but remotes are pretty durable things! Have to say that the Crystal divx player (with remote!) is a very effective little piece of kit for the price. Might be a bit old now though. tbh I'd really like one of the KISS dvd players with ethernet and possibly an inbuilt amp...
