Wow i love the first one,

Any ideas on how long the exposure was for?

Why not state their equipment and location as well for the photograph? i.e. camera, and any lense.

    Cheers

I'm out in the sticks not too far from Newport, and noah is over in Cardiff.

Transport links are good though, so it's no problem for me to get to Cardiff // Bristol (although i'm pretty stuck once i'm in Bristol. The local transport there confuses the hell out of me )

But yeah, a photography outing sounds good!

hmmm...we'll have to wait until I get that dSLR I've been thinking of getting. but when thats done I'm well up for it!
little off topic but: I'm still um-ing and ah-ing over it all. might just see what canon do later this month...stuck between 5d and 1dmkii. each have their merits, and drawbacks, I don't think I'll go for the upcoming dSLR cause I hated the 20D, granted its a great camera when it works but I'd rather not take the chance on one failing on me when I need it. I had lock ups, random focus and I just got fed up.
5d; full frame, none of those stupid automodes, big lcd (though not essential), good battery life, sort of light, good for landscapes and detail good because of high res (12mpix), good in low light. down side is images take up more space; more memory req'd, no weathersealing, apparently quite dim viewfinder...and the AF system is an 'upgrade' on the 20D's which I hate with a passion cause it was so hit/miss, it is possible that due to ff this is better on the 5d.
1Dmkii N; all you'd expect in a professional camera: top of the range AF system, solid design, high fps (not that I need it), 8.2mpix sensor giving crop 1.3x - good for sports/wildlife, weatherproof (like crazy), big buffer, dual processors (one for AF one for capture), has an exposure evaluation system where severeal points may be spot-metered and the best exposure calculated - good for landscapes but nothing a couple of filters wouldn't fix if this weren't here. big lcd, iso in viewfinder. menu system very good layout
downside; weight, its heavy, very. 1.3x for landscapes; do-able with a good w/a lens though, fps - its so high shooting off hundreds in no time will inevitably result in loads to process. weight. size - its the size of a 'normal' shaped camera plus a battery grip integrated permanently. images blown up to huge along-side 5D are a touch out and lower res becomes noticable. price is about the same as a 5D plus a good quality lens!

each one designed for different jobs, yet each very good. downside to both? price!! sucks but I want to make something of my photography, in a serious way, just picking the right tool for the job...then there's the lenses. seems wrong paying so much for a body when its the lens thats crucial in the image quality... please excuse me whilst I bang my head up on a wall.
