I know there are a few (not many mind) HDTV capable camcorders out there, but until now the smallest (and most affordable) one i've seen is the Sony HDR-HC1E. Sanyo have announced an update to their pocket MPEG-4 SD card camcoder. The VPC-HD1 has a 5.1mp sensor and records in 720p in MPEG-4 direct to an SD card.

Looks like you'll only get about 14-16 minutes of HDTV MPEG-4 on a 2gig card so i'd be expecting 8 - 16gig cards to be required for practicality for this.

Very interesting though.

(would be useful if this could stream directly to a laptop over USB, i could find a use for that...)
