Depends on what style of writing you like. But the big problem with these magazines is that they are owned by 1 of 2 publishing houses, so invariably you'll find the reviews of the same hardware look remarkably similar. Personally I prefer Home Cinema Choice, they provide a little more in depth analyis. They have an online presence with previously published reviews from it and it's sister publications (http://www.homecinemachoice.com/). Don't forget to head over to avforums

home cinema is a very zelot-filled market. some fanboys just buy whatever what hifi reccomend, but its also popular to trash them, for whatever reason. I've a feeling that all reviews on thier mags are bias based on advertising etc - they are good for some techincal knowledge though.

i'd reccomend taking a look at a few in smiths and picking up whichever one you like. i do admit i'm a sucker for the hcc online review db.

Widescreen review (US mag) is about the only maagzine that actually reviews equipment on a real test bench, is written by some complete home cienam freaks, and is never biased toward advertising. Another good 'un is the quartely HC supplement in Hifi choice.

HCC, What Hifi, What Home Cinema etc etc etc are all good for a purpose (news, what products are up and coming, something to read when taking a dump) but read into the reviews with a big pinch of salt...
