The Sigma's really are hit and miss. Noah's is great. I know a chap who imported - his is a duff one, pretty much unusable over 200mm. Not a lot he can do about it.
The Nikkor is a winner though

I was hoping to get into portraits a bit, a few friends have asked me to do them and although the 18-55mm kit lens i've got is ok, I thought for £60 it's a pretty good bit of kit.

Well done on the purchase, I hope you enjoy the lens when it arrives and I have seen some great samples of it being used to good effect.

I'm still a bit of a new comer to photography, especailly SLR, and i'm trying to not get caught up in the "buying loads of lenses" that a few photographers still ppear to suffer from!

After these two I think a decent macro lens will just about finish my collection off, although the Nikkor 18-200mm VR lens does look amazing :-S
