Hi,
I have a Sony DCR-HC24e and am having trouble transfering videos to my pc. I've just installed a firewire pci card and all seemed to be working. However, the computer recognises the camera and even controls it (play, fast forward etc), but when I go to capture the video in moviemaker, the program says 'unkown error' and can't go any further.
I've also tried Premiere and Nerovision. Both operate the camera but have no luck showing/recording any video.
Here's my pc specs:

MICROSOFT® WINDOWS® XP HOME
I should also mention that when I open the camera as a device on windows it displays the video from the camera ( albeit with no sound) so it's not like the video isn't getting to the pc at all.
Any thoughts? Am I doing something very dumb? This is the most likely option I know, but I'm stumped. Does the camera need to be in a certain mode to transfer? My Sony handbook is useless and only mentions connecting via usb.
Thanks
