Active studio monitors with a 6,5" bass driver and 1" dome tweeter rated at 120w a piece, I have been informed they are great for the money. Tell me what you think.

Special little discount from a friend of mine but he did them for 240 inc vat with free saturday delivery and free cables, ive seen them for 140 pound on digital village, but I would be a but suspicious at that price seeing as everyone else does them at around 260 quid inc vat
these are active speakers, you dont need an amp and yeah thats for the pair there great speakers to go for depending on what you plan to use them for? recording?
hmm, these would be a good bet you would just have to hook them up direct from the cd player. The difference with studio monitors is the wideness of the soundstage and they dont colour the music as much or at all as standard hifi speakers tend to do. So you are getting the true sound of how the music was originally intended to sound when it was originally created.
hmm I dont know what to suggest to create that sort of atmosphere, im using these monitors for producing music. Perhaps someone else who is a hifi buff might be able to help you on that one...
What CD player do you have? Makes a difference to what speakers to use as Denon stuff has never been the best for classical. I would suggest some nice Kefs or Monitor Audio's. I would steer clear of Mission though, would be too bright and outgoing for classical attached to that sort of amp. One of the best things for classical is to use decent power amps as they have the drive to power through large swings in tempo and volume etc.Originally Posted by Steve B

ahh no worries, Im as guilty at that as anyone lol.
producing dance tracks like house/trance music but the speakers really come into there own when it comes down to finally mastering the track.
