I use DVDDecrypter and AutoGK. http://www.doom9.org/

You need to select the PGC that relates to each episode seperately and rip that to a folder before adding it to AutoGK. TV series are a pain to rip the first time, but once you get the hang of them they are OK.

I use DVD Shrink, it basically rips the entire DVD as some sort of CD Image, then just emulate it using software such as Alcohol 120% or Daemon Tools.

If DVD Shrink doesn't work (cos it hasn't been updated in about 2 years), then RipIt4Me will back up just about any DVD to your HD.
You'll need to instal various other bits of software as well, i.e. DVD Decrypter, FixVTS and DVD Shrink.
RipIt4Me acts as a wrapper for these other programs, and gives you a 1-click DVD - HD backup.

the problem with a lot of the automated DVD backup systems is that they are not geared up to handle TV series with multiple episodes, especially if you want each oneas a seperate file.
