Anyone here got any experience with the new H80i?

After all the christmas rush and obvious skintness, I'm looking to replace my CPU cooler (Titan Fenrir EVO) with a nice new self-container water cooled one. The new H80i looks good, but I can't find too much in the way of user feedback thus far.

Has anyone bitten the bullet? If so, are there any negative points?

Except for the reports of noisy pumps which most of these AIO coolers suffer with i doubt theres anything note worthy..

Plenty of reviews around and they are a definite improvement over the previous generation from corsair and worth the extra cost.

Hmm, didn't see much in the way of comments about noisy pumps, good to know though!

I have the H50 in an old PC and it has been solid.

Only issues was the squeeky bum moment when the first time you switch on the power and you hear the sound of water running around your computer! The pump on that thing was noticable when first turned on, but the sound of the graphics card soon drown out that noise.

Yeah most watercooling pumps make most of their noise when theres air in it or trying to pass through it.. the air in these sealed kits are to compensate for expansion, but if you feel like wasting 10 minutes or so before fitment you can always try and work the air into the radiator by keeping the radiator higher than the pump and just shaking slightly or turning the pump to try and cause the air to rise away from the pump assembly but how effective this will be is unknown

I'll definitely give it a shot, worth 10 minutes of time for a bit less noise IMO. Though saying that, since it'll be in my FT02 the radiator will always be higher than the pump, so hopefully that'll help.

Re: Anyone here got any experience with the new H80i?

Yeah that helps, but ive noticed in most pictures people tend to place the pump on the CPU with the pipework pointing out to one side so the corsair logo is the correct way up.. this doesnt really help air filter its way upto the radiator, granted this isnt always possible because you dont want to kink a pipe and cut off the water flow, which is why i suggested maybe trying to work it to where you want it before fitment.

Hope it works out for you anyway, but i guess the noise cant be that bad else they wouldnt be retailing them still plus i'd say alot of people move from using air cooling to these sealed watercooling units without thinking about the added vibration from a pump and complain bitterly because they expected silence lol

    Good point

I'm not too bothered about the logo, it's good when it looks nice but honestly I'd prefer performance/silence over an LED being slightly to the left! Now I just have to wait for January to come round so I can actually afford one

Re: Anyone here got any experience with the new H80i?

Having just had to replace a few components, I swapped out my old Fenrir, for the H80i. I have the logo on the pump up the right way, but I cannot get the pipes to fit properly unless I have the radiator on its side. Is that likely to have any issues?

I cannot hear the pump, but the standard fans at full speed are very noisey. Booting into the Bios, the fans are at full speed, and boy is it loud. Into windows, and it is fine, and is keeping everything cool.
