    Corsair H100i: Noisey Pump Issue

I also have nothing but problems with the H100i, which i purchased last weekend.

    Issue 1:
Loud buzzing noise from the pump since I got it, sounds like there is a bubble trapped and have tried several days to resolve this.

    Things I have tried:
    - Took the H100i out of my case and reseated
    - Installed/reinstalled the latest Corsair software with the latest firmware 1.0.7
    - flicked the "hoses"
    - tapped the pump
    - Lay the case on its side for a few hours

However, if i tilt my case at an angle (10 o clock position) the noise stops.

    Issue 2:
The led lights on the pump seem to have a mind of there own e.g when booting up my pc the color is always white when i have set it to green. The software does not always change the color when u move ther RGB sliders. I re-installed windows 7 since this was a new build and still no luck.

Where is the quality control and testing of this product?

Any help would be appreciated before I start my RMA.

    Thanks

Re: Corsair H100i: Noisey Pump Issue

In regards to the pump noise, I'm a bit curious, try connecting the fans directly to the MB fan header rather than to the pump and see if the noise changes.. Did the cooler come with 3pin fan or PWM fan (4pin?

As for the LED not responding to the selected color. Are you using C Link version 2.4 software? You do have the current Firmware but I just wanted to make sure that you are using the latest software as well.

I am using your corsair sp120 fans for the h100i. These fans are actually plugged into the mb fan header.

    - Did the cooler come with 3pin fan or PWM fan (4pin?
The sp120 fans I am using are 3 pin

    - Are you using C Link version 2.4 software?
no i am using Version 2.3.4816 but I am going to download Version 2.4.4948 (which is a beta version) and give this a try.
Update: this has not worked but when deleting my profile and uninstalling the software and installing 2.4 it sets and remembers my color choice (alien green)?

I am going to try and reseat the cpu cooler tomorrow as my last attempt.

    * when i shake the case side to side the noise stops**. The noise only occurs if i shutdown my pc and power it back on. If i do a restart its ok. I can record this and upload it as the noise is rather loud then i would have expected.

If this is the case, then I would suggest that you get that unit replaced via Corsair RMA or if you are within the re seller's return policy, I'd swap it trough them first.

Re: Corsair H100i: Noisey Pump Issue

    Hi Greybeard

I just put in my new replacement today and there is no issues with pump making any noise.

Thanks for helping me out greybeard.

I hope you can pass this message onto your senior managment. Corsair seriously has some quality control issues as the some of the coils on the replacement h100i were severly bent, which exposed the grey/silver on the radiator. Having recently purchased corsair RAM and the corsair h100i both have been replaced b'se they were faulty. I have lost alot of faith in corsair quality and I will think twice about purchasing corsair products again.

Re: Corsair H100i: Noisey Pump Issue

Just wondering, how loud do you think the pump is now? I am looking at this, but I want the most silent pump as I have an almost silent PC

Re: Corsair H100i: Noisey Pump Issue

The only noise i get from my PC is the pump (on quiet mode) i.e slight humm but it is really quiet. I previously owned a ultra quiet thermatake heatpipe cpu cooler, which was dead silent. Maybe look at the Thermaltake Water 2.0 Liquid CPU Cooler perhaps its quieter but i am not convinced u will get dead silence from a pump.

I'll make sure to bring this up during our meetings and will be noted...this is something worth mentioning, specially when sending out replacements.
