As per title, I bought some cheap ones of eBay for my laptop and when playing games the palm rest is stupidly hot and temps are reaching 95 on the cpu! So need some better heatpads I reckon :) thanks!

I'm not sure the corsair CPU coolers are going to be relevant to your laptop.
Otherwise, if your palm rest is getting hot then it suggests your laptop cooling is working correctly. It's when it doesn't get hot that you need to worry. Make sure you've got adequate ventilation around the fans - I found using some CD cases to prop up the laptop a bit higher worked well (making sure not to block any ports). Otherwise you're just constrained by physics - try undervolting and underclocking.
I have an old c2d laptop. I redid the the thermal paste eventually but in order to keep ramps down I undervolted.

No idea what CPUs they support but managed to shave off a lot of voltage and 20c odd. I would have thought the CPU would use paste
Well...it's all to do with the fact the heatpads i'm using are terrible....i checked them out only 2.5k/w or whatever that is i don't actually know, plus i made the mistake of getting a 2mm sheet so ended up having to carefully slice it down the middle to thin it out....not my greatest idea!
Now when it comes to my gpu and cpu i use thermal paste but it's the memory chips i assume that are really getting hot...i know it's normal for it to get hot but this was starting to burn abit....so was rather worried!
I should point out it has been heavily customized so i have to take that into consideration.....
Again though i really do need to get some decent thermal pads for it just need some that are going to compress abit when i use them.
If the case is getting hot, then the heat is being transferred from the devices to the case properly. Your problem is that you are generating too much heat for the case (which is acting as the heat sink) to dissipate quickly enough, hence the high case temperature.
I see, i suppose it doesn't help that i am unaware of the specs of the fan's....damn :(
I don't think getting better thermal pads will help much. As peterb says, the thermal pads are designed to carry the heat from the chips to the heatsink fans and then the fan is meant to blow it out of your laptop. I've dabbed around with thermal pads and I think the average is around 1-3W/mK so yours isn't a bad one and it's doing as intended. The problem is dispersing the heat out of the laptop.
Have you tried cleaning the heatsink using something like compressed air? Tried turning up the fans? I've heard laptop coolers can work to some degree too, the active ones anyway. They basically aid by blowing cool air into your laptop.

I haven't used one myself personally as I don't really game on laptops, I just chose them randomly from a quick glance at the reviews.
