Corsair Dominator Memory / Fan Questions

    Hi,

1, Firstly what is the difference between:

    TWIN2X4096-8500C5D

    and

    TWIN2X4096-8500C5DF

2, With the dominator fan, are they automatically temperature controlled, and do they have a 3pin with rpm connection so I can use the motherboard to slow them down if not.

3, Does it void the warranty if I want to run these at 1200Mhz, and what is the highest voltage allowed under warranty?

    Thanks.

    1. F means is come with a fan.

    2. The fan is just a fan, it has a 3 pin header.

    3. Speed will not void the warranty. Max voltage is 2.1v.

    Okay thanks, thats really useful!

So as long as I don't exceed 2.1 volts I wont void the warranty.

Correct. And, if you have a volt meter you can check your memory voltage for actual voltage as it may differ slightly from what is in the bios.

So does that mean I can technically overvolt in the bios if the true value is 2.1v

just out of interest, does any of your RMA team know if memory has been damaged by overvolting? (just curious, I'm not going to play the system ior anything, lol!)

No, it does not. If your meter shows a different value from the bios, I'd trust the meter. Using more than 2.1v voids the warranty.
