    Question TX650W and 2 9800GTX+

    I recently upgraded my PC to a Q6600 2.4 CPU and 9800GTX+, from a Core 2 Duo 2.13 and 7950GT and am currently running them off a SmartPower 2.0 450W ATX12V v2.01 PSU.

However, when I went into the XpertVision website to look up stuff on the 9800GTX+ I read that it required a minimum 500W PSU with 36A on the 12V rail. So I went and ordered the Corsair Memory TX650W after reading great reviews and finding it for a decent price of £60.

Now I'm definitely not clued up about volts, amps and watts (well I think P = VA from my Physics O'Level but that's it!), so here's what I'm wondering:

    1. The SmartPower 450W had a max output of 32A, so is my 9800GTX+ currently underpowered? Will I see some performance gain when I install the TX650W?

    2. If the 9800GTX+ requires 36A and I wanted to run 2 of them in SLI, do I need a PSU that can output 72A? Basically would I need to change the PSU again to be able to run 2 of these babies? If that's the case I might just spend the extra now, and quickly cancel the TX650W order!

This rating is for the entire system, not for a single video card.

Here is the PSU finder that Ultim8 wanted to link:
    http://www.corsairmemory.com/psufinder/default.aspx

This FINDER will give you an accurate recommendation on the PSU for your system.
