    Cable request - Sata power

I know iv tried this before, and the cable i received was the wrong one, but id like to try it again.

I have an extra HDD & DVD drive to put in my PC, but iv used up all the SATA power cables that came with my Corsar HX520 PSU.

Can anyone link me, or put me in the right direction to find an additional SATA power cable, for my PSU?

    thanks

Not quite what you asked but have you got a spare molex power connector?

If so you can use a short converter cable to use it as a sata one

Re: Cable request - Sata power

iv thought about it, but with this being the 4th HDD to go in, space is very very tight. Molex connector are all being used by the fans, and one of the HDDs, and id rather not put the 3 x molex cable in there, just for one HDD & the adapter. The case also has a big window & is on show on my desk, so trying to keep it as tidy as i can. Ideally a 2 x slot SATA power cable would be ideal!

    thanks

Fair enough, depending on your case you may be able to route cables behind the motherboard tray, this is what I do. Looks better if you have a window (I don't), provides airflow and makes working in the case easier.

In this case adding an extra cable won't impact your case too much since it'll be mostly hidden. I actually only use 2 molex power connectors at the moment since I have a fan controller that takes just one molex and itself will power 4 fans. Another way of minimising the cables plugged into the psu.

Mostly I'm suggesting this because I think you'll find it easier to get hold of a cheap fan controller and rearrange your current cabling than you'll find it to get another sata power cable. I'd love to be proven wrong though since I could use another sata power cable for my hx 520!

Re: Cable request - Sata power

Iv done my best to route the cables behind the mobo tray (MOBO power, DVD drive, cable & 2 fan cables), but with the antec 900 & the PSU being at the bottom the cables only need to run about 3-4 inches to get to the HDDs. However, with the cables all being much longer then this (both sata power & data cables) they all end up getting tangled & wrapped around each other. iv done my best tot idy them out of the way but there is no hiding 8 cables in a small space!

and TAKTAK, iv got my finger crossed aswell. Seeing how good Corsair were at sorting it all out though, iv got faith in them sending the right cable this time!
