Hi
I am getting over 160 errors in test 7 on memtest when using 2 x 2GB Twin2X XMS2-6400C5 ram. I have them installed in a Gigabyte EP31 DS3L Motherboard. I was suspicious of a memory problem due to frequent crashing in Windows XP and corrupt downloads from several sites.
I am running them at SPD 5-5-5-18, default motherboard voltage is 1.8 I believe.
I have tried using the other 2 vacant memory slots and same error message. I then tried one stick of ram at a time replacing them in the same slot. One stick ran without any problems, however the other stick showed lots of errors.
If I just use the working stick of ram, the downloads in windows xp are fine, no corruption and it appears stable
Should I RMA this, or is there anything you can recommend, i.e increasing the cas settings, voltage, However, if one stick is fine at SPD I would imagine the other stick should be fine at that setting also?
Looking forward to your reply
James
