Any news on the smaller version Yellow?
What smaller version???
in one of the videos (cebit maybe, or may have been computex, i'm not sure), the Corsair rep mentioned smaller/cheaper versions that were in the pipeline to suit other areas of the market
Just finished migrating my existing components into my new 800D. Very nice case but the cable management does require a certain level of anal retentiveness to get the door to fit flush once done. If you simply run cables all over the back the door can bulge a bit.
For the water cooling people, this case fits a 120.3 and two 120.1 easily without modification. I used the XSPC RX360 (5.85cm thick + fan) in the top but this intrudes on the top two 5.25" bays. Not really a problem for me as I filled them with fan controllers but something to note. Installed a 120.1 (4.5cm thick + fan) in the base, which is covered by the filter at the bottom and didn't have to remove the mid mounted 140 fan. Installed a 120.1 on the rear as well.
All in all, a nice case for the water cooling people who couldn't be bothered to modify a case to support dual loop cooling.
Might take a week or so but I'll see what I can do. The case, once full is heavy as hell! No vibrations though, very solid feel about it. It's jammed in the corner until I have time to rearrange the study so need to find time (and decent light) to drag it out. The power coated black makes it tricky to photography decently. I've also kept it clean with no fancy lights inside so it's quite dark.
I'm currently cooling the CPU off the pair of 120.1's as I'm saving the 120.3 for when the 5970 is installed (currently cooling a 4870x2). CoreTemp reads idle at 26-30C depending on ambient with load barely breaking 50C on my overclocked Q6600. The two 120.1's are pulling air into the case (base + back) with the 120.3 exhausting out the top. Going on the theory of heat rising + the triple radiator can handle more heat (thicker and bigger) than the singles.
The CPU cut-out/hole is much bigger in the retail versions as well. If needed I could easily swap out the waterblock on the CPU without removing the motherboard (or anything else besides the tubing). Lots of clearance around the backplate.
will there be a smaller version of this case, i love it but its a beast! i am looking to buy a case in the new year
thanks

We are exploring other case offerings at this time. However, I cannot offer any specifics or additional information as no formal announcement has been made.
If there is a smaller version coming, im getting one (or more). This is an awsome case. But, for many of us that doesnt use tripple rad watercoolers and quad SLI configs, a version thats just a bit lower and just a few cm more shallow would be just perfect. About 50cm tall and 50cm deep, like a large midi tower.
We are very glad you like it and appreciate your support. We are proud of our expanding case line.
