on the whole they are quiet, mine is.

Yeah my H50-1 is very quiet, the noisiest thing about mine is my noctua NF-S12B FLX which is cooling/blowing air through the rad, well, actualy, it's the air that is creating the noise. Great bit of kit, keeps my 965 @ 4GHz cool for 3D first person shooting games and other computer tasks.
