    RMAing 2 PSUs

    Hello,

I have 2 dead hx620s but am reluctant to RMA them to Holland (because of the shipping costs from the UK).

I was wondering, in theory, if I do RMA them and they are beyond repair, could I opt to swap them for just one PSU with a higher wattage?

I'm guessing probably not, but I don't really have any need for 2 spare PSUs, as I've already bought a third to replace the latest one that went bang.

Many thanks in advance for any responses.

Any chance of a Corsair reply for this two-month old question?

I'm sorry but we cannot do swaps or upgrades in a case like this.

    Re: RMAing 2 PSUs

Why would you buy a third corsair if the first two went pop? That would put me right of a brand tbh. Either that or I'd seriouslly call into question your system build that is causing them to go pop.

    Re: RMAing 2 PSUs

I didn't buy a third one. But I trusted Corsair's reputation for build quality when buying the second one. And they went bang in different PCs, so system build isn't to blame.

Looks like they'll need to go in the bin. RMA to Holland would cost about £60 and I'd get back two PSUs that I don't need. I doubt I'd even make £60 selling them on these forums.

    @Yellowbeard. Thanks for the answer.

    Re: RMAing 2 PSUs

Is there no UK Centre to send them too? Or even a way to go through the retailer you bought from? If not thats just shocking to be honest.

    Re: RMAing 2 PSUs

Unfortunately, the PSUs are both over 2 years old so no retailer wants to know. Corsair do have a five-year guarentee but no UK base.

Don't suppose anyone wants a couple of Corsair doorstops, do they?

Best are An... for rma. They don't ask you to ship to Holland. You just send them an invoice and they send you a new one.

Sure you'd be able to sell two HX620's for more than £30 each!

    It's 4.98*

Interesting. I have 3 of these PSU's purchased at different times and all of them work fine.. we shall see... maybe you just got a few bad ones.

    Re: RMAing 2 PSUs

I have just had a tx650 completely die too after 2 years, it was in my parents computer and wasn't under any stress doing e-mails and web browsing. Just got an RMA for Holland too which is pretty useless as I could easily buy a cheap one for less than postage. I was also fooled by the corsair quality parts reputation. Not very impressed.
