    Memory Help / advice please

    Hi,

I have an Asus M2N-E motherboard.

    I currently run: - 2GB (2x1GB) Corsair Value Select, DDR2 PC2-5300 (667), 240 Pin, Non-ECC Unbuffered, CAS 5-5-5-15 RAM.

I want to add 2GB more as i've ordered an HD3870 grx card and have ordered 2GB (2x1GB) Corsair TwinX XMS2, DDR2 PC2-5400 (667), 240 Pin, Non-ECC Unbuffered, CAS 4-4-4-12 as it was on special.

I then noticed that although they are both DDR2 (667) one pair is 5300 and 1 pair is 5400

Would this cause any problems or will they all work fine?

An early reply would be appreciated.

    Thanks,

    Rob

Should be fine, as it's the same frequency: 667 MHz. You'll have to run the newer ram at the looser 5-5-5-15 timings though, unless you're very lucky and your old ram runs at 4-4-4-12 OK, which I doubt.

Just make sure the system sets the command rate to 2T. If it is unstable at SPD, try setting the latencies manually.
